It is in human nature to hold on to what we possess, often hesitating to share with others. However, this is not the lesson that nature teaches us. Consider a mango tree—or any tree, for that matter. Year after year, it bears fruit, provides shade, and serves as a home for birds. Even after its lifespan, its wood continues to be of use to mankind.
This verse beautifully encapsulates the principle of generosity.
But one may ask—what can we give?
A Bible verse constantly resonated with me:
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
—The Gospel of St. Luke 6 : 38
The answer is simple: our time, our talents, and our resources. When we dedicate these for the betterment of our family, friends, and society, God lesses and multiplies them—thirtyfold, sixtyfold, even a hundredfold. Life follows the pattern of sowing and reaping. When we give selflessly, we receive in abundance. This cycle ultimately leads to a life of fulfillment and purpose, turning us into individuals who attract and inspire those around us.
I have experienced this truth in my own life. Wouldn’t you like to experience the same?
May God bless you and catapult you to great heights.
A part of kindness consists in loving people more than they deserve.
